As can be seen from the debug.log, PHP attempts to read from /usr/ local/mysql/lib/mysql, which doesn't exist. It should be looking in / usr/local/mysql/lib. I'm running Mac OS 10.4.10/x86, with nothing else interesting about my setup. Everything worked up to PHP 5.2.3 on this. debug.log
