One question. The PHP install instructions say to put all of the files in a
PHP directory, but PHP doesn't seem to find the
php.ini file there. It seems I have to put the ini file in the WinNT
directory, even though the PHP directory is in the path
environment variable?
IIS 5
The IIS anonymous user account has access to both PHP and the aspell
directory .

I've applied the patch for FastTemplates and php4. The version of PHP
that comes with RedHat 7.3 is 4.1.2 which is the same as my Mac OSX
which works fine.
One of the only differences I see is that with phpinfo the RedHat
systems are using the system regex library and the othe
imap extension fine but doesnt find the gettext extension.
Any thoughts?

I installed PHP using the Windows installer package (920k), I am running IIS
5.0, Windows 2000. On first try everything seems to be fine. I created a
test file with one line in it on a new site with all
read, write, execute, and browse attributes turned on. Once I browse to the
directory I see
I'm installing php on a linux box, and I'm getting an error:
BUG IN DYNAMIC LINKER ld.so
I've checked some of the docs in the bug reports, but they've not helped.
Can someone give me a clue?

(yeah I'm new to this).
The instructions I found at
http://www.php.net/manual/en/faq.installation.php#AEN62909 specify php3.
Are there installation instructions for php4? If I need to, how do I remove
php and start over again?
Thanks,
Gary

All,
Found the solution in another posting.
You need to use the --enable-discard-path option when compiling PHP.
Evidently, this supresses the output of the #!/path header output when using
PHP as a CGI application.
Thx

I've installed PHP4.0.6 as a CGI application. I have everthing working
and I can run my scripts from the command line with no problems.
The problem lies in when I install my php script into the cgi-bin
directory and run it from a browser. The header line in the script gets
echoed along with the s
stallation
options as well as lots of other useful information about php.

However, I would like to be able to make these run as the appropriate user

Any ideas?

Perhaps there needs to be "--with-executable" as an option allowing for it
to be built in addition when "--with-apxs" or "--with-apache" are specified.
If not, at least don't build "pe
