I have scanned the archives of this list for those two error
messages but the solutions that I found don't quite work. I am running on
HP-UX11.0 with apache 1.3.28 and php 4.3.2 compiled with the HP C compiler.
I built apache as:
./configure
--prefix=/apps11/apache --enable-m
Figured out my previous post, never mind that (reinstalled libtools)
I came across a forum post that says "recompile the modules that say
this" but I haven't any idea how to go about that. Help? I tried
just rpm -U on a couple, but redhat keeps whining about dependencies.

Make won't find the libltdl.la library, which causes it to die. I've
looked all over the net, pretty carefully, and can't find a solution.
The truth is, libltdl.la does not exist on my server, though
libltdl.so.3.1.0 and lbltdl.so.3 both do e
Are there provisions in php to use an installed extension from a local
user? An example is that I want to install ming as a local user where I
don't have access to the default extension directory or the system php.ini.
