I am trying to compile php with gdlib+gif support,
I am using gd 2.0.7 which as already been patched to add back in the gif
stuff.
When I run
./configure --with-jpeg-dir=/usr/local/src/jpeg-6b --with-png-dir=/usr/local
/src/libpng-1.2.4 --with-zli
b --with-gd=/usr/local/src/gd-2.0.7gif --

Check the path to the config file php uses. You can do this by executing
phpinfo() in a php file.

i've used this combination for a logn time now. a few days ago i had to
format my hard drive. i installed w2k in the following order:
1) windows 2000
2) windows 2000 sp3
3) iis
4) iis patch
5) php 4.2.3
6) mysql 3.23.53
7) zend optimizer
