I cranked the log level up to debug on apache and tried again.
Here's the wierd part: If I start apache without the php module, then edit
the config file and uncomment the php module line, then restart apache -
it stays up. If I do a full stop and start, then it won't come back and I
still ge

I configured/compiled apache2 with the following options:
--enable-ssl --enable-so --enable-rewrite --enable-modules=info
I then configured/compiled php with these options:
--enable-track-vars --enable-force-cgi-redirect --with-gettext
--with-mysql --with-apxs2=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs --wi
I have some problems with GD and php4.1.2.
I have FreeBSD and i have gd zlib freetype jpeg and all that is required
installed.
My line is like this,
/configure --with-pgsql --with-apxs=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs --with-gd-dir
=/usr/local/lib/gd --with-zlib --with-png-dir=/usr/local/lib --with-j

if php was compiled with --enable-trans-sid then you dont need to add the
SID to the URL
run phpinfo() to confirm trans-sid is actually enabled in the php.ini (1 is
on)
(look for session.use_trans_sid)
