Initially I think that my PHP server is too old to support bcmath capability
so I upgrade it to 4.04pl1 using (Redhat 7.1 disks ) but it also fail when I
execute php script "call to undefined function "

You don't have the path to that library in your /etc/ld.so.conf file.
Add it and run /sbin/ldconfig and everything should be fine.

I can configure it fine but when it comes time to run make it crashes
everytime. I am running debian 2.2 I have installed php probably 200 times
never had a problem on any previous versions. Here is what i get for a
error.
