I'm having trouble configuring PHP and Apache to work the way I want them to on my
Windows machine.
The trouble: in some cases I want BOTH ssi and php to parse the same document, and
this isn't happening. Documents with a ".php" suffix are parsed through php and
".shtml" documents are

Try grabbing the latest source from snaps.php.net
Also, I've found better luck using sh instead of the default tsh for
compling PHP.
Are you getting Apache errors when starting?

PHP 4.0.4 (Compiled as a module
do a find for *mysqlclient*
note the directory
add directory to /etc/ld.so.conf
run ldconfig
go back to php directory
make clean
configure
make
make install

I am also a newbie. I have been trying to install php4 as a static
module with apache.
I suceeded , still when i run my script trial.php on the browser the
window just stays empty.
I have the same suexec line appearing when i run "httpd -l" command.
