I know this has been a while, but you have made some mistakes:
PHP _can_ be built as DSO under windows. I know it because I
build it from CVS snapshots about 4 times a week.
Also, the actual problem the user had wasn't addressed, and
though he has surely solved it long ago, here's the solution
Are you sure you are trying this with PHP and the extension
coming from the same zip?

James,
Not on OS9 unless you run a linux bit on it, either in emulation or
directly. If you are going to go that far, might as well do it under OS X
and have other benefits. I've built PHP and Apache under OSX just fine,
latest Apache, latest PHP snap as of two weeks ago.
It's very straightfow

George,
I think the problem is in the AddType line. Instead of using a type of

Hi.. I'm trying to activate some external extensions that come with the PHP Zip file
(Win32). I've had this problem in 4.0.4 and 4.0.4pl1.
I go in the PHP.INI file and define the extensions directory, and un-comment the
extension I need to have loaded, in this case, php_imap.dll.
When I run a
I managed to succesfully build a libphp4.so shared library to load in

When I restart Apache and request a page, the server responds with:
"Internal Server Configuration Error
Syntax error on line 40 of /usr/local/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf: Cannot load
/usr/local/etc/httpd/modules/lib
Josh,
I'm getting the same problem.
How can I check whether my php4 running? I thought php4 is invoked by
Apache when it is pointed at, among others, .php files.
Thanks,
