I did try the "var $varName;" outside a class, just to see what happened,
and found out it does indeed throw a parse error, so I'll just use a comment

I think that in your database it is :
substring(loc, 1, 3) as loc1
Anyway, the error is not where you are getting the message, the query failed
and this you don't have a valid resource to ask the number of rows or do
anything else. You should add an 'or die("message: " . mysql_error()) to
you

I have a Nokia 3610i i think, with MMS capabilituies and GPRS WAP.
Ive never accually thought of expanding website possibilities with this
use, how excatly do I post from my mobile?

Sadly that's a property of most IT-Books :-( I've hardly ever seen another
kind of books with more printing errors than IT books used to have...

He advised me to the solution.
It was simply an URLencode missing ;)
(I've guessed that I do that allready but the var-name has changed,
and so the function has taken no effect...)
