I am new to php and want to use php for our mailing program.
At present we have servlet program what the users access it thru web
interface and use for sending,receiving and composing mails.
But it is giving lot of problem and hence I want to shift the entrie
system to PHP .

Now I want to upgrade this PHP to support FTP also.
Should I have to Install now from the begining.

I want to install apache and php in a redhat box version 8 and want apache
to load php. So how i shld proceed. Just downloading the rpms of both
and installing will help or I have to down load the source and compile it.
