I just tried the most recent dmg file and I get a crash of the VM.
When I pressed 'refresh', the info about the available images get pulled
via HTTP.
This took a while since the connection wasn't that fast.
However, the VM crashed before all information was retrieved.

It happened to me, though I easily fixed checking the option for
automatically download sources when needed (perhaps you can make that as a
default).

Works fine on 10.8.5.
But in my Applications Folder is already the Pharo VM called „Pharo“, so
perhaps you should rename the launcher to „Pharo Launcher“ or something like
