PostgreSQL Friends:
Trying to build 9.6RC1, with Python3.4, on OpenIndiana (Illumos). It seems the
detection of shared library status of the .so has changed. This appears to be
related to a different(?) elucidation of python configuration.
A 'hardwired' change to the configure script to trap
Having just git pulled from orgin/master:
$ ./configure
$ make
Mileage:
...
make -C bootstrap all
make[3]: Entering directory `/path/to/postgresql/src/backend/bootstrap'
gcc -O2 -Wall -Wmissing-prototypes -Wpointer-arith
-Wdeclaration-after-statement -Wendif-labels -Wmissing-format-attribute
-
I have since added a symlink to /usr/lib/config-3.2mu, as suggested in that
dialog - No Joy.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Our mileage, in practical terms, is that the perceived inconsistencies create a
minor support hassle - we don't want to present any - even trivial - hurdle to
adoption of SSL to our clients.

Congratulations, David Fetter - on his new arrival! It's a big day!
I think it's just that the Europeans - wisely - have a habit of taking these
long summer vacations (!)
They also tend to be taller and better-looking than the rest of us, and have
better food and wine.
