Re: [GENERAL] setting PGDATESTYLE

Hi Tom. I basically set it as environment variable now... >It ought to be settable via postgresql.conf, but currently isn't. Yeah, that would be the right place. This way I only have to provide this one file...even can make it part of the installation process... Regards, Stephan --

I also use Zope and PostGres intensively over 9 month on a production system. It works really nice together. The PyGreSQLDA is not thread safe, so you to be a little careful, but the new PoPyDA fixed all this and works really nice. (I have not tried PoPy on production yet.) Regards, Stepha

[GENERAL] PGDATESTYLE as Environ variable broken?

2000-09-09 Thread Stephan Richter
PGDATESTYLE=SQL. Somehow the same trick does not seem to work in the startup script (RedHat). I use BASH. Do you know a solution? Regards, Stephan -- Stephan Richter CBU - Physics and Chemistry Student Web2k - Web Design/Development & Technical Project Management

[GENERAL] Another question: Order of entries

2000-09-09 Thread Stephan Richter
I know how to solve the issue using Python (the programming language I use), but it would require N*log(N) update statements by average, which can be very expensive, especially when many people run this code at the same time. Thanks a lot for your help in advance! Regards, Stephan -- Stephan Richt
