I have been using it in windows to manage and manipulate a PostgreSQL
server running in Linux with limited of success.

The only way I can think of to accomplish our task would be to set
Logging to ALL and then parse the Log Files into a Table...
This is not an option I wish to pursue though it may work for you.

I would add that I also found on the pgsql-admin list a similar pltcl
way to do what you're after posted in October of 04 by Ian.
One way or the other though likely you will need to install first the
ActiveTCL
AND/OR
ActivePerl
