why
this fails, and what I am doing wrong? The exact same job on a Centos server
is working perfectly, so I presume it is something about the Mac that I am not
understanding...

e you won't have the
rights to back up all the databases.
If you are doing this on a regular basis, or want this to happen automatically
each day then you should look at pgAgent and set up jobs in that. It works
very well.
