Try disabling any anti-virus software that you may have installed
recently. Sometimes, that can interact with PG (and other DB servers)
in unpredictable ways.

properties dialogue (right-click on a function in the tree) line
numbers (when activated in the query tool) are displayed twice (two
columns),.
