Can you give us some more details?
To which version of server, are you trying to connect?
Can you set LogLevel to Debug by opening Options Dialog
(File->Options->Debugging).
And, then reproduce the bug and please share the logs for that with us.

This is not restricted to the latest version.
On some XP machines PgAdminIII crashes when the user logs in to a
remote database.
The log file shows the login occurring but nothing else because
PgAdmin has shutdown.
These are no messages in the system logs etc.
