This is how you set it on Windows, not sure if it's the same on OS X.
I think this is a Mac menu thing, but there is no File > Options menu
item for me.

filter in pgAdmin or when running SQL from psql (standard command line
interface of PG). In the SQL query dialogue window of pgAdmin I only get

and copied the pgadmin3.mo pt_BR file into it.
I can select it in Files->Options->User language but it does not
