Basically, you have things backwards.PgAdmin is bundled with PostgreSQL in some
distributions, but if youdownload from www.pgadmin.org/download/ then you only
get PgAdmin and nothing else.

Interesting. I got two responses on my phone marked as spam, while here on
my desktop they are nowhere to be seen - presumably they went straight to
my spam box. Before that, I got a German language message which apparently
has to do with upgrading tickets.

No. The Debian PostgreSQL packages are designed to allow multiple
versions of PG to be installed in parallel, and in my experience this
works very well.

My pgAdmin is correctly configure to connect to my server and is the tool
of choise to manage the DB I'm so used to pgAdmin with stored password
that I forgot the password of Postgresql.
Since the password is stored in the pgAdmin DB could someone tell me how to
recover it from the SQL
