Based on the antennae and size, I would say Cigarette Beetle (Lasioderma
serricorne), and that is considered a high-risk pest. They target books

Hi Sarah,
This is a classic situation for the increase in silverfish. It sounds like you
have a great start! A deep clean is the first step. Have you been able to
control the RH? This is key for managing a silverfish population. They like
humidity (hence the reason why you often find them in
We have found diatomaceous earth is also useful, shaken in the areas where
silverfish are present, for controlling them.
It has the effect of drying out their scales and killing them. It's
non-toxic to us and just looks like chalk dust.

Be careful about falling into the "non-toxic" trap. Just because it doesn't
say it is toxic, doesn't mean there aren't safety issues to consider. You
don't want to be breathing it in. Google diatomaceous earth to see the
Safety Data Sheet and what it says about inhalation.

The type that flip a door closed works with some mice but keep away from
any interference. If the mice escape once they do not enter again.
Also learned a bit of cinnamon roll works well to bring them into the trap.
