You could also just bag them outside before bringing them into any building for
a cold treatment as you would need to bag them anyways to freeze them. That
would suffice and isolate any possible issues. JTV

Just curious. Were the flowers dried before freezing? I would have assumed
that freshly cut flowers would be damaged by freezing.

This is one of the Hairy Fungus Beetles (Mycetophagidae) - its name is
*Litargus
connexus*. It's associated with damp conditions and mould, and is not
usually regarded as a serious pest. If you find many of them, then that's
an indicator that you need to address humidity issues.
