Folks-- I have a linear-time version of Husseins' nice Perl implemented file-based OAI provider. (Original version at http://www.dlib.vt.edu/projects/OAI/software/xmlfile/xmlfile.html is quadratic time, takes 23 min on a three-year-old laptop for 40K records; linear-time algorithm takes 10 secs
