Do _not_ measure with a cheap volt meter!
Many cheap voltmeters are not very high ohmic.
As a result it will "load" the trigger voltage point of the flash,
reducing the measured voltage.

Igor, I had exactly the same experience with that 17-70 on my K5.
Now for K1,I use often the Sigma 28-105/2.8-4 that I bought long ago for
my Z-1.
I hope Sigma will make their 24-105 available for Pentax, and I am very
curious how the IQ of that lens would be compared to Pentax 28-105 and

I saw the advantage of square mode, in using the full image circle of
APS-C lenses, without the need of going to FF and cropping in post
processing. As such the file size would increase w.r.t. APS-C mode. If
it is not like that, I will be disappointed.

I tested crop mode as follows:
K-1 with Sigma APS-C lens 8-16mm @ 16 mm
(@ 16mm the Sigma covers FF)
3 pictures of bookshelves filled with books:
FF gives 44.5 MB
APS-C mode gives 22.2 MB
1:1 mode gives 45 MB
So Mark Roberts suggestion is right: the camera adds just a cropping

Larry, thank you very much for this warning.
K1 sensor sees so well in the dark, I did not use my 58AF2 yet.

At the moment I take a photo, I know where I am, but later I donot
remember the name of the street or the temple or what ever.
So I write down some info, sometimes.
But I would be s happy if I could switch on the mike on my K7 and
add some remarks.
Why not a few kb of audio added to all the
Waw, why not Pentax? This kind of features cost nothing, just a bit of

Hi Paul, nice shot. Did you use the single focus mode or contineous

All my Pentaxes had difficulties with fast moving subjects, like big

Nice one to make your goldplated MX: take the caps off, remove the
remaining paint and give to one of those companies for a thin (or thick
if you are rich) gold layer.
