It’s -only- been five months since our autumn trip to France, and I’m finally
getting around to posting some pics. (My photo computer and hard drives took a
hit from a nasty power surge, which took a long time to sort out).
Paris was our first stop, so more are coming.

We had the most amazing luck with the weather throughout our trip.
Getting rain-free days all through the week on Islay and almost
entirely rain-free days during our Cumbria Way walk through the Lake
District. A major rain storm floods out the northwestern UK while
we're staying in Carlisle but rai
Larry, there are some really nice photos here.
For me, though, the many near-duplicate images dilutes the impact of the whole
set—for example, were 11 similar shots of the raven and 8 of the eagle really

Thanks. Three years later it's hard to remember my motivations, but that was
the trip I went north to bury my mom so I might not have focused as much on
trimming down the gallery as I might otherwise

A friend with a K3-II who is not on here would like to try
astrophotography. Does anyone have a link or a website for him to learn
the first steps?
Thanks

Are we talking deep sky or astro-landscape?

Thanks for the update! After your “ flood” post yesterday I checked the area
weather and it looked like it might be awhile before it cleared. Good to hear
that you or the good doctor were able to part the waters and escape to drier
climes.

A long delayed OT comment re your power surge and related computer issues…
Several years ago our trusted local electrician installed a whole-house surge
protector. A relatively small attachment on the main panel. I think it has
worked properly, we’ve had no issues even when neighbors were having
