I popped into The Camera Exchange (my preferred dealer) yesterday and asked
nicely if they could arrange a test of a *ist-D when it is available.
I got a call back today to say that they expect to have one in two weeks and
the price would be AUD$2675 (inc tax) if I decide to buy. (EOS 10D is $2900
Wonderful ... and you could use the straps to tow a truck if need be.

the information.. I have a zx-7 and a zx-5n and have
been looking at flash units. the one that catches my
eye is the 280T, i like the swivel and bounce
capablities and the GN is in my range, are there any
things bad about this flash I should know

I believe Scala is a proprietary process, and there are comparatively few
labs that process it. Where you are in Russia I would think that you would
be able to get it processed in Germany if you can't find a lab in Moscow or
another major city.

My understanding is that all auto-focus lenses are more susceptible to
fungus and dust because they have to be well vented to keep from putting an
extra load on the motor. Keeping a container of desiccant in with your
camera gear helps some.

over the Bogen. It's still made, and you
can get parts for it.
Looks like the cheapest step up in 50mm
lenses would be a Nikkor. I don't suppose
Pentax ever made enlarger lenses.

I've been using Genuine Fractals for awhile now and I like it. Its strength
is better quality as you enlarge. It is not a cure-all for a shot taken or
saved too small or over compressed though. It also is a bit smaller file to
save then a PSD Photoshop ® file. The only minuses I've notic

I like (well, love, actually) mine, because it's the ultimate all-mechanical body
for me. It's the logical conclusion to what Pentax started with the Spotmatic,
with everything improved. The metering with easy to read led's, it's smaller and
lighter, you can put a very reasonably priced winder on
