If you don't get eclipse glasses in time, shoot me a message. I can spare a
pair for someone on the list.

I knew about the Balloon Festival, but didn't realize it was going to
still be going on when I get there.
Maybe I'll get lucky & get a photo of eclipse + balloons. 😏

Looks like he will just be getting there on the last day .. probably
why it was possible.
I'm getting reports on FB from a friend . Was there for a combo
Scrabble tourney and balloon watching back in 1982.. It's a lot crazier
these days!

I'm amazed you were able to get reservations because we got Balloon Fiesta
going on over here. Enjoy the Balloons. The trees are changing color at the top
of Sandia right now, so a drive up Highway 536 (takes you up to the Crest)
might be in order.

Last time I drove across was 2001, going east - I guess, because it
was 2001 in NOvember you couldn't get as close as you could back in the
day.

I've been there & I'm planning to visit again AFTER the eclipse.
THEN - Hwy 60W to see the Very Large Array.
The biggest thing I have to do is NOT to pack in too many activities so
that none of them get the attention they deserve.

ERNR,
Thanks for the information. I will mention some of the items to her. I
know she has gone out and shot some at the missions. Maybe we will revisit
them.
As for food, she is supposed to be a food afficionado, so I will see what
she is up to - whether we dine in or out.
