Of the two, I prefer the MX. But beware of meters that don't work or won't turn off. It's an excellent camera, certainly among the best Pentax film cameras ever made. You can also get a motor winder (or motor drive) for it, which is a nice plus. Even with the winder, it's still a compact camer

Gary, I have never had an MX apart far enough to get into the shutter speed display dial so I can't say for certain how easy a fix it might be. There could, in fact, be several different failures which would give this symptom. Download the service manual for the MX from my web site at http://www.
