Hi,
I have been off the list for a couple of years. I am hoping to jump into
the DSLR world soon. Using a Pentax DSLR seems to be the way to go based on
the lenses and flashes I own. But now I hear Pentax is in rough shape
financially and I wonder if I should not invest in Pentax if they will b

I missed that section. I also figured if this was possible somebody else
would have thought of it by now.

What if I take an M or K series lens and modify it for matrix metering per
Mark Roberts web site? I make sure that there is still metal contact on the
one "pin" location as there would be on an A version when the camera is in
the A position. I then set the lens to f22 and treat it like a lens set
I currently own the older power zoom model. I am thinking of replacing it
with the newer 28-105. I am planning on replacing an older PZ model camera
with either an ZX-L or the new *ist (if I can use K mount lenses with out
issue) and was thinking it would be nice to have a faster more compact le

This happens with and without the use of a flash. The flash is a Pentax

I traded for Super A last year. I knew at the time it was a project camera.
Everything on it seams to work with one minor exception. I get the
occasional photo with a black stripe across the bottom of the photo. There
is no detail in the stripe. It shows up once in about every 5 to 8 frames.

Same story here. My wife had a k-1000 and a couple lenses. It was just
natural to build from there. Her biggest complaint now is I have taken over
her hobby:)

I would go with the ZX-M. It has more shutter and aperture priority that
the P-3 does not have. It also has a built in motor drive. A quick look at
Boz's web sit will give the full list of features on both. The main
distracion on the ZX-M is it does not have a metal lens mount.

I agree. I may not buy a new Pentax auto focus film camera, but wait 6
months to a year to see what Pentax comes out with. I have plenty of film
cameras already and would be more than happy to thin out that collection to
help pay for a new DSLR. My wife and I currently own the EI-200 and have a
