I just got JVC noise-cancelling headphones from Comp USA for $40 (reduced
from $50). They have a braille L and R on each side--I thought that was
cool. Anyway, they sound great--you can hear the full range of pitches.

Hi Casey,
Sorry for the delay; it's been a busy week.
The model number is HANC-80, JVC noise-cancelling headphones. They
have
braille letters L and R by the earpieces
for the left and right channels. At 11:25 PM

Hi All,
I used to be able to listen to BBC radio1, but now when I click on the
"listen live" link, the machine goes "ding" and I get frustrated because I
miss the chart show on Sundays.
I live in New York City, so maybe the British government cut it off to
those not living in the UK.
Hi Barry,
Thanks for your reply. I followed your instructions. I hit enter on
the
"listen live" link and then the "listen live Real Player" link, and it
didn't work. Maybe they cut it off here, I hope not, though.
I tried it with Jaws 8 and Window-Eyes 6.1 and got the same r
Hi all,
I hope everyone had a nice summer.
Does anyone know anything about the Victor Wave? Last night, my
friend
told me that it is supposed to be a combination cd player/card readr.
Have a nice evening.

Hi Tim,
I've been using the DS-50 for over a year. The speaker is fine, but
you need to place the recorder very close to the person who is
speaking into it.
I use it primarily for having people give me their contact info, and
then put the info on my Braille Lite.
Once in awhile, I use

Hi Billy,
You need to contact the music Section of the National Library
Service. The phone number is
800 424-8567, option 2.
They have a nice-sized collection of songs on tape, chords and lyrics.
Good luck.

Billy,
You should contact the RNIB in London. I'm positive they have an

Good luck.

Hi,
I've been having similar problems with Radio 1. I like to
listen to the Chart Show, but yesterday, it kept going in and
out--finally timing out.
Forgot: I'm using ie7.
Good luck, and let me know if you get it to work.

Hello,
I'm a Sonar user. It works best with Jaws--there's a
software package called CakeTalking. Dancing Dots is the company
that distributes all kinds of music software for blind users. Their website is

I recommend you call the NLS in Washington, DC. the phone number is
800 424-8567; ask the operator for the "reference section". Someone
in that department will know where to find a "talking book
machine." The magazines and some books were actually played at 8 rpm.
Good luck.
