Hi,
I have acquired some music which has been ripped to 1 single flac file for
each disc.
There is however a cue file accompanying each of the flac files.
Could anyone recommend a program which could split the files in to
individual tracks using the associated cue files.
Many thanks, and best

I haven't needed it in a while so don't know if it's still accessible and
good.

Hi,
I recently downloaded a video of a concert, which is in the format of a vob
file.
I want to extract the audio, to a wav file, for convertion to flac.
Could anyone please reccommend a program which will accomplish this.
Preferably freeware, as this is pretty much a one off job.
Thanks,

Fore a free program you might look at Format Factory. I don't have the
link
so search for it. It lets you change the format of audio and video files
as
well as rip cd's and DVD's plus change picture files.

Just announced on the eac mailing list, a new version of exact audio copy has
been released.
Information on what's new is below.
I havn't downloaded it yet, so don't know how it works from the accessability

Hi,
Speaking of Foobar, I would be curious to hear from users which particular
shortcut key combinations you've assigned for the main program functions.
I'm about to embark on setting up a few short cut keys, and would be
interested to have some ideas of what has been found to work well.

Hi,
I've defined some keyboard shortcuts and was wondering is there a method of
transferring them to a copy of foobar running on another pc?
Thanks,

Many thanks Dave and Joe for the replies.
It looks likely then that I may have to look for a more current alternative.

Hi Brett,
I used exact audio copy to rip my cd collection, comprising around 1000
discs to flac. To date I haven't encountered any tracks with audible
artefacts, even those which eac reported as having possible errors.
Eac seems to be generally regarded as the most accurate ripping tool around.
I was hoping mp3 at 320k
to conserve space. So would eAC still be a good choice? Or am I insane for
ripping to mp3s. and I should just wait untill I can get some more space.

tages of eAC vs mainstream rippers
Since you are ripping to flac does this mean you have to convert these flac
files to another format for your portable players or IOs devices?

Hi Jim,
I'm afraid I can't offer a solution, but I've been using eac for the last
ten years or so under win 98, xp and now win 7 64 bit, and have also
experienced this same sluggishness with windoweyes whilst eac is ripping,
right throughout this time period.

Hi,
I''ve done likewise here. I think provided you've sufficient disc space
available, initially ripping to flac will offer you more long term
flexibility.
You can then re-encode the flac files to mp3 for use on portables etc.
Best regards,
Tim.
