Still must find the time to put this through its paces. Just trying to find
the best solution now to clean records. Other equipment in place - NAD preamp
and Rega iii turntable!

I use a micro fibre cloth these days, pulls the dust from the record.

The ones I will be using hasn't been cleaned or played for some time! Need

That's good to know, but I'm interested, how did you get at them in the first
place. You know the old proverb about giving a man a fish is good but teaching
him how to fish is better (smiles).
So long, and thanks for all the fish! Sorry, couldn't resist the Douglas Adams
reference.

So just dug into my archives and found some fish from Dane thoughtfully
provided last July which I am reposting here for the rodless among us (smiles).
Judging from his comment below getting them may not be so simple as I had
hoped. Thanks again Dane.

I just tried some of these URLs here in the UK and it looks like they no longer
work - at least in Winamp.

How are you trying to play them? I've played them using several devices
here, Windows computer, Mac and Samsung Galaxy S6.

There are plenty of machines out there that will help with this. I think they
start at around a hundred dollars, but not sure. Mine is a VPI machine that
costs just over a thousand, but then I have over eight hundred records.

I've gone through them quickly, four I counted that didn't work.
I went onto the page and copied each link by selecting it using
shift-down arrow with JAWS.
I then pasted the link into VLC.
I haven't as yet installed Total Recorder onto the Laptop I'm using in

Hey guys,
I have anew windows 10 machine. How can I get Media Player to play .ogg
files? Or, should I use a different player?
Thanks,
Reed
There use to be plug ins you could use. Google is your friend but again
be carefull. I should think VLC can play ogg though. Don't really
remember. Haven't messed with Ogg Vorbus since the 1 time I geeked out
on it because the PTR2 played it.

Hey guys,
Okay, good luck. I'll have to install VLC myself. Winamp looks to be getting
well past it's shelf life.

Hi, Matthew. I'm interested in converting LPs to digital but don't have a
program or the equipment, other than a good desktop. Perhaps we could talk
off-line re tips on how to get started; first, hat's a VPI machine?
Thanks for your help. John
