well I do have a logitech usb mike that also humms a little bit, so the

it also stops if I pick it up. But regardless of what I place it on I will
hum just a little bit.

I bought a mount, but I am returning it, I thought the shock mount I would
be able to use on top of my desk but I need a boom arm and I am not going to
spend the money for one do not need it that bad yet.

It just started happening within the last few months based on the angle of
the boom mike. So, after 2-1/2 years I'm not that surprised.

I would try not using the mic stand that comes with the mic. Use a boom
stand and mount the mic that way so that it's not on the desk at all.
