Funny you ask this as I would like to know as well please. I tried a
free online conversion site but would prefer a local program for those
times when I don't have or want internet access.
Any responses will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Would it be sacrilege to say I don't care for switch, and say Goldewave and

M4V files, or at least it's not listed in the files it supports. I
checked out Media Foundation but only M4A, Mp4 and 3Gp can be dealth

Surely m4v files are video format? Why would you try to convert a
video format to audio format
?
If you want the audio, play the file using the ITunes player, and

I convert video files to audio files all the time. The resulting audio
files take up a fraction of the space of the original video files. Plus,

much more portable and can be played on many more devices. Converting

I got M4A files to open in Goldwave without any trouble. they are converted
to wav and then you convert to MP3. it is clunky but it works. In ITunes you
convert using the same method converting wave or Mp3 files through the
import settings.
