The problem here is that when I want to play an audio stream from the
net, any player chosen is stopped. Playing files located on the
machine is fine, but either entering a stream address in to say
winamp, winamp comes back with The address and th
Are you using a netbook by chance? most of those have the basic windows 7
installed on them because of the Atom processorand the amount of internal
ram this is just a theory I have, but I don't think the basic is good for
playing music very well.

The problem turned out to be a router issue. DOn't know what it was,
but re-setting the router gave acces to audio streams.
