Hello Pam, I do a lot of recording with my computer, the SOUND MAX sound card is not a good sound card at all. This is one of the mane draw backs of sound cards that are built in to mother boards of computers, you can't monitor anything that's going through them. Your best bet, is a SOUND BLAS
