I would agree. There are a number of editors that do a fine job, but if they don't have the features you need it doesn't make much difference which is the most popular. I know that Rick Harmond would agree that Goldwave is an excellent editor, and for a majority of folks it will probably meet

Regarding naming of files. If the recording is checked to convert to MP3, because it originally transmits in Real Audio or some other format, I end up with no date in the file name. If it is not needed to change to MP3, then the date is in the file name. Also it ends up in a format like this.
