Hi Chris,
One way of doing what you want in Sound Forge is to do the following.
1. Record all of your clips on both channels as normal.
2. Convert to mono if the left and right channels contain different things
(i.e. are in stereo) and you want a combination of both
channels to appear in one.
Hi again Chris,
In step 2 of my previous message, I said convert to mono. What I meant was to
mix the left and right channels (there is an option
for doing this). You still want to end up with a stereo file.

Create your main recording with the speech. When you are ready to fade in
the music Pull up the music in a second window, select the amount of fade
in, copy the track, control tab to the speech track, press control m, this
opens the mix window where you can determine where the mix should start.
Hi Doc,
thanks, I will give it a try.

Hi, Gary. You can definitely set up your original file with a start marker.
that's what I do before starting a mix. I find it easier than trying to set
it up from the mix dialog. Also, a tip that I learned from
Bruce recently that I've found to be incredibly helpful is the fact that you

Hi Norma,
Did you check under the Sounds tab in the Sounds and Audio Devices

go and split a file the next time I entered that feature I had to make all
my choices again. Unlike my currant version which stays the same unti
