I know that the earlier copy of realjukebox did that for you as you ripped a
disk to your drive but I know of no program that will be able to recognize a
song by genre just by looking at the title.

I've tried soundforge which doesn't play them. Winamp plays them, but the
volume goes up and down on a steady basis.
I'll try Goldwave.

Same with me; although I've only created one data disk in the last few

Hi.
You could try a program called audigen from red chair software. Once you
start using the database, you probably won't want to move the files as it
doesn't matter where on your computer your music is held. I wrote the
following article about audigen for a magazine here in the UK.

Hello Kiran.
What are you planning to use this mp3 player for? Is it strictly for
listening to music, or do you also plan to use it for spoken word material
like audio books? Also, do you care much about the size of the unit? If
size is not an issue, a great choice would be one of the hard disk
and my question is, why would you want to disguise your voice in chat
rooms? Got anything to hide, have we? *grins*

Richard, the PC's sound chip is disabled now, as you suggested.
However, as that was the only source for providing sound on
the computer, I had to add a new card. And, since adding a PCI card
would have voided my warranty, I chose to add a USB card. I chose one

Hello, I borrowed an mp3 player once which allowed you to plug in your
existing USB thumb drive and play the files off of that. It was only about
$25, because you would have already had to have purchased the thumb drive.
It worked fine, and would have been something I bought, except that I

Wow Larry, adding a card would void warranty is rather stringent. How did
you disable the sound chip, did you do it in bios? I suppose that would
have to be the only way as cutting the wires from it would also void things.
I hate it that we can't go into adjust the bios settings; those of us
