Thanks for this detailed advice. However perhaps you made a typo. I don't have
stereo to mono, 100 percent, no faders.
The ones I do have are. My guess is you meant 6 or 7.
1. Untitled
2. Mono to Stereo 100 percent
3. Mono to Stereo 100 percent, No faders.
4. Mono to Stereo 50 percent

The radio station radio Caroline in the UK has the following address for
its stream page.

The high bandwidth stream I am trying to record is labelled
Abacast / VLC (Mac) or Winamp (PC)
(aacPlus 48 k) our highest quality stream. Unlimited listener capacity.

I did mean option seven, stereo to mono 100 percent, use both channels. At
that point in the process, since you've already muted the right channel,
merging both the left and right channels will not matter, since the right is
silent, and will not add any noise, however slight it would have been when
Hi,
Sonar is very accessible.
You'll need some free jaws scripts to make it work the best.

There are a few options for you. I'm sure somebody's already covered Easy
CDDA Extractor, so I won't go into that one. A free option you have is to
use Winamp. Just play the file like you normally would, but the change you
need to make is in the output plugins. Select Wave Out, configure it to

Jed! Do you mean Sonar version 4 or do you really mean Cakewalk

Oh yes Jed there are the free scripts that you can get for Sonar
version 4 and there's been quite a bit of discussion on MIDI-MAG lately
about how good they work. I don't know where to get them right now except
for MIDI-MAG.
If you're going to work with Sonar then you should join MIDI-MA
Hi. Unfortunately, with 5.3, the buttons in Total Recorder aren't as
useful as they were before. Fortunately, all those button functions have
keyboard equivalents. So, to record, hit Ctrl-R. You can find lists of the
keyboard shortcuts in the manual and in help and you can modify them at

Hi. I tried to solve this one, but wasn't motivated enough to download

The 999 does not look any different from what I could tell from the 799 or
899, but it has a color screen. At least that is the only difference I

I was tempted to try it, but found a 799 for under $140 so went that rout

Hi All.
You need more than that.
For a mixer, I recommend any Behringer mixer for price/performance. When
they work, they're top notch! Also, for decend mics, you can't do much
better than Cad Condensers. I use one and they rock!

Oy TJ! Surprised to see you here. Listen man, IFP-series, not worth your
time. Podcasters on the Blindcasting list disagree with me, but the fact
that it can only record in 96 K MP3 is the lose. Sorry, bad.

Hi
I bought the Iriver h320 a month or so ago for exactly the purpose of
getting good recordings and have never looked back. It's a bit pricy though
as it has a 20 gb hard disk. But it is quite accessible and easy to work
with.
I recorded a big part of an international congress on mental health
Hi,
it sounds like the ifo & Bup files are not correct.
If you are burning to a DVD RW, then go ahead and try it.
it may play.
if not, you will need to create new ifo and bup files using a program called
IfoEdit.

Well Rob it's strange because I burned another movie and it burned just
fine but a couple of them don't want to burn as i'm getting the error. I do
have Ifoedit and I can run them through that and see if it will burn after
that. I'll give the Ifoedit a try. I hope I won't dammage the movies.
Thanks
There is always the possibility of a bad disk.

Listers,
I really need more help.
I don't have a clue, on how to setup total recorder. I did find out that
putting total recorder on software will stop it from recording other sounds

However, I'm told that the recorder has to be told how to record that I

Hello, you can hear the total recorder tutorial at

explaining the functions of the program.

and I maintain that 96k mp3, for Podcasting use, is just fine. Yes it's not
the greatest. Yes, it's not perfect. But hundreds of Podcasters, blind and
sighted are using these things and I've read many of the podcasting forums,
and not one single person has complained about sucky audio quality.
Hi. How do the IRiver 799 or 899do in terms of recording with the internal
mike in a class or group setting? Are they tolerable for that?
