Hi
I had the Napster software installed on my machine for a couple of
days during which time I tried every trick to make it work but all to
no avail. I actually spoke to the Napster people though that didn't
get me very far either.

Ken,
if you mean the hard disk iPods, there are better MP3 players,
especially for blind people. If I wanted to listen to Audible, I'd
proberbly buy a BookPort or BookCourier. These machines are equipped with

I've been using napster for a week or so, and it can be used if you aren't
afraid to use your Jaws cursor or Mouse Cursor, for Window-eyes, a lot.
There are vast areas for improvement in accessibility, though. I'm sure

Well Michael, I'm still exploring the I-pod issue. I think I would like an
MP3 player that stores its data in memory, but a hard disk MP3 player is not
completely out of the question.
What do you know about the I-pod Shuffle? How about other MP3 players that
use flash memory?

Ok, Kevin, I'll give it a shot.

Hi,
Do you know if there is a mailing list for the blind that is strictly about
mp3 players?
thanks,

Hi list,
I am wondering if there is a way of making limewire 4.9.33, the latest basic
version, accessible with JFW 5.1.383, just to be exact. I thought I'd give it a

download, nothing at all.) And even with configura
Well, I fooled around with Limewire sometime last year and got it to work a
bit. Of course, if you are using JFW, you have to use the Java Access
Bridge.
Basically, it was a matter of having Jaws anounce all the graphics
characters and clicking on them to see what happens. It was a long and

I think I'll need a lot of instructions (the java access bridge?) in doing
this. Can someone give me a step-by-step process? And I'm not even sure how
to label graphics. Can someone explain that to me too?
thanks

Does that mean that the Shuffle has no way to fast-forward or rewind through
a track? And what is "Shuffle?" Some sort of random track selector?

Easy CD-DA Converter, or Goldwave. But why do you need to convert them?
What's wrong wit leaving them as M4As?

Hi Ken
You can fast forward and rewind within a track on the shuffle. simply
hitting the track forward and back buttons and holding them down will do
this. By default the shuffle randomizes the tracks you put on it but if
you don't want that, you can move the selection switch to the other slot

One cannot copy MP3 files from and to it with a program like Explorer
and then play these files with the Shuffle. That's why I'm not very
interested in it.

The PNY vibe also comes with a USB plug, a line-in port, and internal mic
for voice recording. Pretty much blind friendly, and does not come with
software, iether. Has 2 GB of memory. Note: avoid rio products at all costs.

Hi, Marsha here. I have JFW 6.10 and cannot get Limewire to work. The
short answer is you are sadly out of luck as this program is not accessible
in the slightest.

Where's Tj Olsen when you need him? according to him, there is a shuffle
clone called the Supertangent from a company called Luxpro. It does this
crap. Search it if you want.
The IPod series in general are way over rated, and they in general I
recommend you stay away from.

Hi Scott
I have the Iriver h320 hard disk mp3 player. And I am more than satisfied
with it, especially where accessibility is concerned.
And if you perhaps want to record things like meetings on it - this is by
far the best quality recorder in such a portable format that I have ever

Hi Scott. I hope that if I'm wrong about this, someone cannot correct me,
