Actually, if you get the scripts it's possible to press F6 and type in the time you want to start from. Even without the scripts it's possible to mouse cursor up from the bottom of the program window and find the edit field where you can type this (which will say "sel". The latter is a bit tedious,

Oh, and another way is to make "F" and "R" fast forward and rewind keys respectively (you do this through "Shortcut keys" in "Options".
