Hello. I've finally decided to exchange my portable MP3 player for an IPod.
Don't know too much about this gadget, , but I've been Googling for
information the past few days.
Does anyone here own an IPod? If so, how accessible is it to transfer MP3
files from your PC to the player using spe
You could, but it's not much cheaper than Nero, has much less
functionality, is not completely accessible despite the propaganda, and in
my personal, one-person's opinion, is overpriced and overrated.

Regretfully, because I'd love to be able to support a product like Premier

Look at the Iriver players. It's easy to transfer files from your computer

on the newer Ipods, they're not accessible for a totally blind person. The
only one now that is accessible is the Shuffle, but that's not what

Rick,
I don't know if the Real Player and the Music Store associated with it
use essentially the same interface as Rapsody or not. I've had good

Thanks, maybe I'll try Real Player. The song I purchased was downloaded to
my computer with a .rax extension and nothing else seems to play it except
the Rhapsody client. Maybe Real Audio will recognize the format and allow
me to burn it to cd.

Tracks bought through the Real Music Store are in the .rax format. You
should have no trouble playing.
Let me know if you find the interfaces to be similar. With a couple of
others on this list, I've done some experimenting and have a couple of
different approaches to suggest.

Yep, that's the real media protected format, so it probably will work in

Rick, I like Napster a lot. It is fairly accessible, the tracks are in the
Windows Media format, and I have been able to burn them, though it's been a
while since I did this. HTH, Norma

It's expensive. But the Victor Reader Classic Plus is great. It plays
music CD's, mp3's, and Daisy formatted material on discs. In Daisy
formatted material you can find and stop on sentences, paragraphs, pages,
chapters, etc. But there are less costly machines. Check out

Let me add that it also plays OGG Vorbis files, too.

Hi all. Here's a question from me, Howard Traxler. I've read this list for
years, but never had much questions .. or answers.
I'm ready to burn an audio CD. All the files are .wav files. Do I need to
convert them to something else? If so, how would I do that?
Thanks you much.

Hi Bruce. Thanks for that. I really like using Nero. A strange thing
happened: I burned a CD, but part of the files wouldn't play, even in
Winamp. I must have started a project, then went out of it, thinking that I
could get back to it. Nero said, "File not found. Do you want to remove it
It sounds like I don't really want to try that one. They really shouldn't
say that their program is accessible if it isn't.

Hi Howard. It depends on whether you want to make a music CD or an MP3 CD.
You can put up to ten hours of music on an MP3 CD, if that's the way you
want to go.
