A lot of people find the Rockbox manual to be not so blind friendly as
you stated. It's fine also if you can muddle your way through the
geek-speak, which again, there are some people who would have a hard

box is to plug the earphones in and turn it on. If it doesn't speak
after about 5 or so seconds, it most likely just needs a reset, which

The guides are right on the player itself. The Quick-Start Guide is
in text format, so you can open it up with Notepad or any word
processor. The Rockbox Manual is in PDF and one needs Adobe Reader to

Olympus DS-50 will do the trick real nicely, and any of the PDAs using
MobileSpeak Pocket speech software will work great. These are probably the
easiest to lay your hands onto.

from Creative Labs,which I got as part of a subscription package from
audible.com, an online digital audio book vendor. This isn't likely to suit
your needs, if only because its flash memory capacity is only 128 Mb.
