your problem is that your recorder is set to composit class.
Your using your recorder as a usb microphone.
If you get it back to pc connection and your problem would be solved.

Ahh, thank you so much! I spent the night reading the manual and finally
got to that very item. Went there, done that and gots its fixed really
good. I must have changed it along the ways...

Ah, you set the USB type to Audio Class in the older ones or Composet
In the new ones. You now have to set it back to Storage class. But however,
it's odd you can't access it, when I do it, I still can.
