Hi, Robert and John.
There are a few questions raised here. First, as Christopher and perhaps
other listers have pointed out, NLS isn't adding chapter and other
indications to books recorded in pre-digital formats.

High Robert,
I have the advance player.
But however, that button won't solve the problem that I mentioned in my
first post.
My best regards.
Tom, yep, it has a menu key. Here, in Florida, I
asked for the advanced model and got it.

With the standard version you have to hold down the fast forward or reverse
until it passes 30 minutes then it jumps chapters.

did you double check your settings with the
books you downloaded? the majority of the
books I read come from the BARD sight and I
have no problems moving from chapter to chapter.

Wouldn't the same prencible be applied to the books that are on the

The same principle would work, but instead of splitting the tracks with an
audio editor they're using the DAISY standard to mark the different
chapters and headings. I haven't done this myself, or
player has for settings, are tone volume
and speed.
But what would these have to do with moving from one place to another?

You happened to download one of those books which were converted from
cassette and didn't have many markers. I have seen them work all ways.

I'm guessing that the books you've downloaded from BARD so far just happen
to have been older books that were converted from tape. These books won't
have the DAISY markups that newly recorded books will have. I'm just
guessing. There shouldn't be any difference between the books you get on
