I don't think you can completely get rid of them because the sounds are usually
enbedded through the website creation but once you get to the page try hitting
the escape key that sometimes has worked for me.

You could elect to not permit videos to play. Often pressing the escape key
while on a page will silence the sounds. Others will no doubt have other
ideas as well.
