First tip is to take a few minutes to read the appropriate sections in the manual, the document is well laid out and is accessible through the Goldwave Help menu, your browser will load with the manual so just select the sections you wish to read by following the links. Now this is only me but

When I downloaded and installed Gold Wave, a couple of months ago, There was a note that said that I would need the Lame file. I think I got it from the Goldwave site. It puts an icon on the desktop that's called Razor Lame. Check around on www.goldwave.com Lois Goodine. _
