Need help with latest Audacity 1.3

Hi all, I posted a simular question to the Audacity for blind mailing list but got no reply. Maybe someone on this list can help. I am used to Sound Forge so trying out Audacity. I have a quite big file in wich i need to select certain parts and export them to another file. I have found out that
