Yes, I think that should take care of it. I mean, if you want to record
onboard sound you obviously have to change them. If you're having trouble
scheduling a recording, I would suspect that for some reason you are not
capturing the stream, but can't remember just what steps are involved.

involved including the need to use the Total Recorder driver in software

Hello Mike: I tried what you suggested; I now have "software" instead of
"soundboard" check. So..at least..now..it's not recording the microphone.
But it's still not recording the audio stream either; it did, however, pick
up the sound of my screenreader; I expected that. But I still don't know
