hi listers can any one suggest an easy to use cd recorder I want a
separate unit one that is not attached to the computer one that I can
hook up to my mixer.

Well, what u could do is to plug the output of a cd player into the PTR1's
input and copy it that way.

Their were many of these things around (can't say I've seen them lately
though).
I suppose that (as their are so many different mediums around like Minidisc
etc) that the manufacturers gave up.
